That being said, I have successfully subbed out the coconut oil with any oil I have on hand, and I rarely have rice milk in the house. I've used almond milk, coconut milk and hemp milk this weekend with excellent results.

The flour blend the book says to use is Bob's Red Mill, which I'm not a big fan of due to the garbanzo flour in it. But it doesn't have rice in it! Do many of the recipes call for coconut and/or rice products (oil/milk/flour/etc.)? Because those seem to be two of the most common alternative ingredients but two that Juni hasn't been able to tolerate. :/ Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990868907759807197.post-74019412153756032602013-10-04T13:03:48.347-07:002013-10-04T13:03:48.347-07:00I was having a rough day yesterday and then I real...I was having a rough day yesterday and then I realized it was the 6 month mark of my dad's going home to heaven. One package of 2 1/2 cups of shavings should be quite enough, if you're just going to use it for brownies. Grab a package of coconut shavings, toss it in your blender, food processor, whatever, and let it go for about 10ish minutes. (I would let it run for about 3 minutes. Pause it, stir it around, let it run again,...) It'll be fine and soft. I'll see if I can find my camera cord to post pictures!
